Business Development Executive (Chemicals) – UK (Midlands)

Our client is a leading supplier of Chemicals & ingredients across a range of sectors from Life Sciences, Pharma, Biopharma, Food & Beverages and Industrial. They are currently seeking to recruit aBusiness Development Executive to join their very established & successful team who will be based in the Midlands, UK. The Business Development Executive shall report to the UK Sales Director. The ideal person shall have 5+ years’ experience working in an organisation dealing with multiple suppliers and has previous experience in providing Chemical Sales solutions to customers in a highly regulated sector. Sales of chemicals utilised in the Food, Beverage & Pharma/Biopharma Sectors is a distinct advantage. This role will be based remotely in the UK within 50km of Lancashire ideally.


Role/Responsibilities

  • Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings using LinkedIn, Cold calling, CRM system and email
  • Planning and overseeing Market research initiatives, includes finding and developing new markets and determining the demand within them
  • Using Industry groups/associations to identify and research new opportunities
  • Attending conferences, meetings and industry events
  • Developing quotes and proposals for clients
  • Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with stakeholders
  • Gather useful information from customer and competitor data
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business
  • Travel to meet customers in the UK & EU as required
  • Accepting Sales Enquiries and Orders where necessary
  • Sourcing new suppliers as necessary
Education/Experience:
  • BSc in Chemistry, Biology or Food Science
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience selling into the Pharmaceutical & Nutraceutical sectors desirable
