Company Overview: My client are an early-stage medical device start-up company focused on the design and development of novel devices for the treatment of Intracranial Atherosclerotic Disease (ICAD). This is a new and evolving treatment area likely to be the next frontier in Neuro-intervention.
Overview: As a Senior R&D Engineer at Ceroflo Ltd., you will play a pivotal role in the development of cutting-edge medical devices. Leveraging your engineering expertise, you will design and implement robust technical solutions that address critical user needs. You will also provide regular updates on technical progress and project timelines to both peers and senior management. In this early-stage start-up environment, you will be actively involved in the initial phases of product development and testing. Your responsibilities may include:
Responsibilities:
- Translate design inputs into innovative concepts, detailed designs, specifications, and test plans.
- Identify and select optimal product materials, assembly methods, and process settings to enhance performance and manufacturability.
- Develop and evaluate test models for prototype performance assessments, executing rigorous test plans and protocols.
- Analyse and interpret test results, identifying optimal solutions to technical challenges while ensuring thorough documentation of findings.
- Drive project objectives, ensuring that performance, timeline, and cost targets are met.
- Liaise with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors to support development and manufacturing efforts.
- Engage with physicians to understand clinical techniques and disease states, assisting in the development of training materials and user guidance.
Requirements:
- Honours degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in all stages of medical device design and development (including design with CAD, prototyping, and testing) is desired.
- Strong design and technical ability based on a broad and deep knowledge of fundamental engineering principles.
- Strong work ethic, creative problem solving, capable of working on own initiative.
