A leading biotechnology company in Cork is seeking an experienced Senior Production Manager to join its Senior Leadership Team. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for all manufacturing operations, including fermentation (upstream and downstream), powder blending, spray drying, liquid formulation, and external toll manufacturing partners.

The successful candidate will drive operational excellence across the site, ensuring the delivery of Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and Sustainability targets while developing a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all site production operations and manufacturing teams.
  • Champion a "Safety First, Quality Always" culture.
  • Deliver operational KPIs across safety, quality, service, cost, and productivity.
  • Develop and implement site operational strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Drive Lean, Continuous Improvement, and cost optimisation initiatives.
  • Lead talent development, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Manage audits, investigations, compliance activities, and corrective actions.
  • Analyse production performance and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate across functions and support key site projects.
About You
  • 5–10 years' experience in a senior manufacturing or operations leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop large teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within biotechnology, fermentation, pharmaceutical, chemical, or food manufacturing is required.
  • Strong track record in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and quality compliance requirements.
  • Results-driven, highly organised, and capable of leading change effectively.
