Due to an expansion of the business, our client is now recruiting for the following position;
Sr Mgr Engineering (12 month fixed term contract)
This position will provide management and leadership in the coordination of all facility related maintenance and operations activities within an assigned area consisting of multiple facilities, disciplines or clients. This position will be a fixed term for 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the maintenance department that provides technical, project management, emergency response, trouble shooting and preventative maintenance support for facilities and related equipment.
Ensure consistent global maintenance and operational practices throughout sites
Lead in the development of long range planning (LRP) to maintain the highest level of support and enhance operations productivity.
Develop, maintain, and justify the departments’ budgets.
Assure the appropriate level of training for all levels of the maintenance organization.
Oversee the development, revision, review, and approval of all Standard Operating Procedures that are owned by the maintenance department.
Support the plant in the project approval, prioritization, and implementation process.
Communicate with Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance to ensure the maintenance organization stay in compliance.
Develop maintenance metrics to support the benchmarking of site, global, and industry. Develop improvement strategies based on the benchmarking data.
Maintain an environment that promotes maintenance flexibility, consistent maintenance practices, and efficient operations, which prepare us for current and future production demands.
Lead in the development of Maintenance’s vision, mission, strategies, goals and objectives that ensure the department achieves the company goals.
Lead and support multiple priorities in order to comply with the appropriate planned schedules.
Provide direction on departmental and/or site priorities.
Establish and maintain rapport with the Facilities and Engineering Global Network.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Typically 8+ years of experience in facilities management position, With typically 4+ years experience supervising technical staff
Bachelor’s Degree or combination of education and/or years of experience. Military, corporate or technical training acceptable substitution for formal education
Knowledge of conflict resolution
Ability to partner with other departments.
Analytical problem solving.
Considerable Organization skills.
Experience in coaching, mentoring and counselling.
Ability to deal with and manage change.
Ability to set goals.
Knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines
Ability to use company compensation system including mentoring lower management levels when required.
Team leadership skills: Supervision, delegation, coaching and mentoring, conflict resolution across permanent and contract staff.
