Our client is a leading Medical Device company based in Dublin. They are seeking to recruit a Clinical Nurse Specialist to further strengthen their organisational capabilities in the Republic of Ireland region with specific focus on the public health system. The role will be full-time. The successful person in the role will provide clinical expertise to customers and strategic support to the sales and marketing division. The person shall be giving clinical training on hypodermic, infusion therapy, ready-to-use sterile pre-filled flush syringes and second generation safety adoption, as well as promoting vascular access devices that include the use of ultrasound, peripheral devices such as ported and non-ported peripheral cannulae, midlines and PICCs in key growth hospitals. The Nurse Specialist can work from a home office as significant travel across Ireland is required in the role, so they can be located anywhere on the territory.

Role/ Responsibilities:
• Support the regional sales team to develop sales opportunities within the portfolio with a specific focus on positioning , Midlines, PICCS, Ultrasound and fully integrated magnetic tracking and ECG-based peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) tip confirmation technology.
• Continuous assessment of the sales teams clinical and product knowledge of the peripheral vascular access and PICC portfolio whilst supporting practical training and demonstrations in the field.
• Support the marketing and product manager in the development of product campaigns, product clinical guidelines, product literature and product launches for the PICC portfolio
• Build strong relationships with strategic Key Opinion Leaders in order to support the PICC portfolio
• Facilitate the publication of clinical papers in healthcare journals to support the product portfolio (written by clinicians and supported by our clients organisation).
• Support customers developing vascular access teams requiring vascular access training, audits, policies, and guideline development and specialist product requirements.
Specific PICC Expertise & Responsibilities
PICC Workshops and follow-up training:
• Facilitate intravenous training programmes that includes ported and non-ported cannulae such as positioning and advanced practice Midline and PICC placement workshops in the ROI
• Clinical on-site support from the Clinical Nurse Specialist who maintains their skills as a competent vascular access practitioner regularly placing PICCs with ultrasound and our clients tip confirmation technology device.
• Conduct peer review. This is an annual competency review for PICC placers who are required to have their competency formally assessed on an annual basis as part of their organisation’s clinical governance remit.
Preceptor Meetings
• Attend and provide clinical support to the Regional Vascular Access Master Classes – held in regions across the UK & Ireland.

• To be successful in this role you will be a registered general nurse with an active An Bord Altranais registration.
• PICC placer experience is advantageous along with experience of having worked in an IV team.
• You will have a proven track record of clinical success in the NHS, Private, Medical or HSE environment.
• You must be able to travel across the territory and remain flexible with time spent away from home (overnight hotel stays will be needed)
• Our client will also consider experienced clinicians who have a recent experience in ITU, renal and haematology/oncology. Full product training will be provided.
